Join Pres. Jerry Hultin at a Cyclones Game; Mon. July 14

Jerry Hultin invites you, your immediate family and significant others, to be his guest for a Brooklyn Cyclones game. There will be food and beverages for all (free, by the way) and best of all, you’ll be in the company of your Poly teammates. There are 100 tickets and they will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. You do have to get there on your own (directions) but everything else is on the house!

Dr. Martin L. Perl graduated summa cum laude from Polytechnic with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1948. He has spent his career as a professor at the University of Michigan and the Stanford University Linear Accelerator Center. He received the Nobel Prize in 1995 for his discovery of the tau lepton. Dr. Perl currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Scientists and Engineers of America, an organization committed to promoting sound science in American government.

2008 Commencement and Achievement Awards Ceremony & Reception; Thurs. May 29

Celebrate this year’s many successes and join in a special recognition of those who have distinguished themselves during their time at Polytechnic.

Students will be honored for their achievement both inside and outside the classroom. In addition, Professors Vikram Kapila and Joel Wein will receive the Jacobs Excellence in Teaching Award for their individual contributions to outstanding teaching.

Recent and Upcoming Merger Milestones

  • Jan. 15: Members of the Polytechnic Board of Trustees gathered for a Merger Workshop during which they discussed both the Definitive Agreement and transition plan.
  • Feb. 7: Full regular meeting of the Board. During this meeting the Polytechnic board will vote on the Definitive Agreement. There must be a three quarters affirmative vote to approve the merger.
  • Mar. 16-17: The New York State Board of Regents will vote to approve the required charter changes to both Polytechnic and NYU charters.
